Liquid Compost
Premium Liquid Compost: Organic Soil Enhancement
Lawns need a lot more than just NPK fertilizer. Just like our bodies need more than calories, proteins, and carbs to stay alive. We also need vitamins and minerals, and our lawns do too. The key to healthy turfgrass, shrubs, and trees is providing these micronutrients. Soil health requires a vibrant microbe population to make NPK and trace minerals bioavailable to the roots at the right time, in the right quantity. At Soil's Alive, our liquid compost is the "lawn probiotic" that delivers the organic medicine that keeps lawns healthy.

Why Choose Soils Alive for Liquid Compost Services?
At Soils Alive, we've shared our Liquid Compost with DFW homeowners for over 25 years. The results are in: people love it. With over 500 5-star Google reviews, you're getting the results of over two decades of research and development on what organic products work, and what products do not work. Organic is safe for birds, butterflies, and native pollinators. Organic is safe for children and pets. Our 25+ years of work has paid off, helping us deliver the most cost effective and well-formulated organic product for DFW homeowners.

20+ Years of Expertise in Liquid Compost Research and Development
Our Liquid Compost recipe changes every season, because DFW turfgrass needs something different in spring, summer, and fall. Some years are wet, others are dry. There are hundreds of organic products you could buy and try out. We take the guess work out of organics, by adapting our formula to what your lawn needs, and only using products that we know will work. Our product is different from what other companies call "liquid compost" in several ways. First, we do not put compost in water and add oxygen. There are several reasons why that's a bad idea. Instead, we rely on vermicomposting, which is the process of using earthworms to break down organic matter and release the nutrients into water so they're bioavailable to plants. We use the tea from this worm compost, at high concentration, and blend it with other organic ingredients.
Revitalize & Restore Your Soil with Liquid Compost

A lot of soils in DFW are unhealthy and sick. The #1 reason grass struggles is because of compacted, heavy clay which prevents water infiltration and deeper, drought-resistant roots. As much as 50% of rainfall can shed off your lawn, meaning that a 2" rain only delivers 1" of actual water to your grass. Loosening up your soil allows grass roots to extend down to 6", which allows them to tap into 50% more groundwater than 4" roots.

Sick soils need more than just a liquid compost. That's why our product includes humates, which are rich in carbon and contain humic acid, fulvic acid, and humin. These help to loosen up heavy clay soil so water can soak in and roots can grow deeper. We add an all-natural surfactant (steroidal saponins), which softens water surface tension (think of the water that beads up on a plant's leaf), helping rainfall soak into your lawn and not run off into the street. We add seaweed extracts, which provide vitamins, minerals, and enzymes which reduce stress caused by drought.

Probably most important of all, we add unsulphured blackstrap molasses to feed the healthy microbes (bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and nematodes). By the time one of our technicians arrives at your home, with a 500-gallon tank on our F-550 dedicated 100% to our organic product, we're ready to spray a non-toxic, pet and child friendly, very low NPK liquid evenly across your landscape. It's safe for turf (even new sod), shrubs and trees, delivering a powerful "lawn probiotic" that's designed for DFW soils and DFW turfgrass.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Soil Health
Organic lawncare should not be expensive. An organic lawn that has thick grass will block sunlight from hitting the soil, reducing water loss and blocking light from germinating weed seeds. A top dressing of compost 1/4" thick can also block weed germination. An organic lawn that doesn't use herbicides will not shed toxic chemicals into creeks and rivers. Doing the right thing for our environment should be easy, not hard. It's our mission at Soils Alive to make organic lawncare affordable for every homeowner who wants organic. Inflation and high prices should not put organic out of reach for your family.
DFW is facing a water crisis, and we believe organic lawns is our only solution. By 2040, DFW will be home to 10 million people living in 4 million homes, with an average water use of 200,000 gallons per year, nearly 50% used for lawn irrigation. We need to reduce water use by 15%, or more. That means cutting lawn water by 30%. That will be impossible, as temperatures rise by 3 degrees, and summer droughts will become more frequent. Lawns with lifeless soil can't hold water after rain. As water prices rise, keeping that lawn alive will be cost prohibitive.

our mission
Organic lawns are good for the State of Texas. They're good for our rivers, our wildlife, our birds, our children, and our pets. An organic lawn, rich in organic matter and healthy microbes, stores water like a sponge. A 4" rain that soaks in provides your lawn with plenty of water for 4 weeks, without any extra irrigation. Only a healthy, organic lawn can soak in all the rain!
Our technicians, with our fleet of F-550 trucks, haul over 2000 gallons of Liquid Compost every day, 10,000 gallons each week. Our mission at Soils Alive is to empower and inspire 10,000 DFW homeowners with organic solutions that work for them and their budget. If you believe like we do that organic lawns are beautiful, give us a call to schedule your first treatment.
