Work With Us

We’re looking for experienced technicians to join a crew where most people stay a decade or more.

Why People Stay

Our owner started as a technician

In 2000, Justin joined Soils Alive as lead technician. He became general manager in 2010, COO in 2013, and bought the company in 2022. Our COO started part-time in 2015 and now runs the operation. That is not a story we tell to sound good — it is the actual promotion history of this company, and it is the most honest thing we can say about what working here is like.

Most of the crew has been here ten years or more, which in this industry is unusual enough to be worth asking about. Part of it is the work itself: this is soil science applied to real properties, not a route sheet and a spray tank. Part of it is that we are locally owned and small enough that the person checking your work knows your name.

The Work

What the job actually is

Organic application across lawns, shrubs, flower beds and trees, on a timed treatment calendar that adjusts to seasonal conditions. Diagnosing disease and insect problems rather than blanket-spraying for them. Talking to homeowners about their soil. No mowing, no maintenance, no installs — we do soil and plant health, and that is the whole scope.
