6 Reasons to Hire Soils Alive

DFW has tons of lawn care companies. Why hire us? More and more people are switching from conventional to organic lawn care, and Soils Alive has been perfecting the art and science of organic lawn care since 1997. Our 100% organic lawn care plan is $55/month for a 5000 square foot landscape. We're proud of the customer service we provide that has earned us over 500 Google reviews. Our Account Managers are easy to get a hold of with questions or concerns. They can provide you with holistic recommendations to improve your landscape.....advice that saves you money far beyond just your lawn.

1. Organic Since 1997

Other lawn care companies offer dry organic fertilizers. They take them off the shelf and spread them on your yard. That's something you could do, right? At Soils Alive we take a different approach. We've been perfecting our Liquid Compost since 1997, with a custom blend of organic ingredients that we update throughout the season. We buy in bulk, we mix the ingredients in non-chlorinated water to not kill the healthy microbes, and our technicians haul 500 gallons on their trucks daily, bringing you a quality product at an affordable price. That's a big difference.

2.quality, personal service

Other lawn care companies can be hard to get a hold of if you have a concern. They offer plans that fit their needs, not your needs. We're the opposite. We're a local, family-owned company. Our Account Managers take 100% responsibility for your satisfaction. You can text your Account Manager, email them, and call them directly. They want you to love your service, and will make sure the service you get is up to our high-quality standards. Treating each of our clients as a person, not a number, is how we've built up over 500 Google reviews. How many DFW lawn care companies have more than 100?

3. Not Just Your Lawn

Other lawn care companies only handle the lawn, and maybe the shrubs. Your Account Manager will review photos that can text to us of your shrubs, trees, weak areas in the lawn, and drainage problems. If you have an issue with your sprinklers, drainage, trees, or other landscaping we have contractors that we know and can recommend to you. We are concerned, like you are, about the quality and overall performance of your entire landscape, not just the grass.

4. Our Recommendations

Every lawn is different: too shady or too sunny, too dry or too wet, compacted or loose soil, lots of organic matter or very little, quality drainage or drainage that needs improvement. The performance of your lawn and landscape is not just up to your lawn care company. We can do a great job, and your landscape still won't look great. That's because your landscape also depends on the environmental factors affecting it. These factors might not have been considered by the home builder, the previous owner who put in shade trees, or the company who put in your gutters.

Our Account Managers offer recommendations that go beyond what other lawn care companies provide. We may suggest a different type of grass, extending your garden beds, putting in a hardscape (patio) or native plants, getting a sprinkler audit, adjusting your irrigation frequency and duration, trimming trees back, or doing a one-time fertilization to help a weak area of lawn recover (from fungal or winter damage). Our expertise is in looking at hundreds of struggling landscapes each year and understanding the holistic environmental conditions that turfgrass needs. We offer suggestions for those areas where we know that grass just isn't going to thrive. If you need a complete redesign, we do also have landscape designers we can recommend.

5. A Wide Range of Services

We offer every service that DFW turfgrass needs (except for mowing and irrigation). We provide preventative insect control to avoid grub damage and chinch bugs without using pesticides, with beneficial nematodes, in spring and fall. We promote thicker grass that competes against weeds with our organic Liquid Compost.

We offer core aeration to loosen heavy clay soil. We offer a drought-buster treatment using golf-course moisture management, to reduce your water bill. We offer deep root feedings for trees. We offer pre-emergent and spot-treatment of weeds, using 80% less herbicide. If you would like, we also offer insecticides to treat lawn insects (chinch bugs, grubs, mites) and we can treat fungal diseases (TARR, Gray Leaf Spot, Brown Patch). We offer spring green-up NPK fertilization. And in some parts of DFW, we offer organic mosquito control that's safe for pets and kids. If there's a service we don't offer, we know a trusted local contractor who does that we can recommend.

6. A Plan for every budget

In today's economy it's a necessity to watch every dollar we spend. Inflation is real, with the cost of groceries, home and car insurance, and other necessities going up each year. That's why our Soil Builder program costs only $55/month (tax included) for a 5000 square foot lawn.

If you'd like, we can offer weed control for an additional cost, or you can treat weeds organically DIY. If you'd like, we can also offer a green-up NPK fertilization, once in the spring, or you can handle this yourself. If your lawn has many problems - including fungal and insect damage - then it's going to be less expensive to treat these areas than to start over with new sod. Installing 500 square feet of new lawn can cost anywhere from $750-1500. It's a lot cheaper to take care of the sod you do have than replace it.

Our Boost + Defend plan treats insects and diseases when they have become a big problem and our ongoing service treats them before they can take over, to avoid the expensive cost of replacing turfgrass. It also includes 2 free service calls (additional visits are $75+). If you don't like surprise bills (we don't!), then you might be looking for our Full-Service plan. This includes no service call fees, and we cover the cost of any additional products we need to apply to your yard for the entire year.

If you're a DIYer and you have extra time in the week and money to buy products and try them out, you'll love our organic Liquid Compost. If you want us to handle everything for you, save some time and not take a gamble on products that might not work, you'll love our Boost + Defend and Full Service plans.

DFW Organic Lawn Care, Since 1997

At Soils Alive, we believe that an organic lawn care approach works because it relies on the latest science and technology of turfgrass management. Using the right tools, at the right times, in the proper amounts, is what gets the job done. Sometimes doing less gets better results. Applying too much of a product might result in now needing to apply a different product to correct the error. Lawn care is an art and a science, and it's taken us 25+ years to get it just right.
