Dallas County
Soils Alive serves homeowners across Dallas County. Did you know DFW is part of the Blackland Prairie, home to 12 million acres of what was native grasses and wildflowers? DFW homeowners are now putting in native plants to reduce their water bills and support our birds and wildlife. Learn how to use natives in your landscape with the Native Plant Society. Lawns in Dallas County generally have sticky, black clay and organic treatments can help improve this soil type. Whether you reside in the stately neighborhoods of Highland Park and Preston Hollow or the beautiful communities of Lake Highlands and Oak Cliff, our team delivers tailored, organic solutions for a healthier, more resilient lawn.

Tarrant County
Soils Alive serves all of Tarrant County. There are 8 major soil types in this area, mainly clay. Native plants that thrive in these areas include American Beautyberry, Buttonbush, Autumn Sage, Coral Honeysuckle, Little Bluestem, Columbine, Purple Coneflower, and Turk's Cap. Meet Native Plant society members at their monthly meeting at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. Whether you're in Fort Worth, Arlington, Southlake, or Colleyville, Soils Alive provides expert care that fosters vibrant, resilient lawns. Our approach reduces the need for synthetic inputs and promotes a healthier, safer environment for your family and pets to enjoy.
Understanding Our Approach: Why Organic Matters
We don't just treat symptoms; we build a foundation for lasting lawn health. We support beautiful landscapes that support our Blackland Prairie wildlife. If you're interested in bringing butterflies and birds to your yard, all of our lawn care plans will reduce pesticide use. Our 100% organic plan uses no pesticides. Our hybrid plan reduces use by 80%, compared to other companies, meaning less harm to butterfly caterpillars and the insects that birds rely on for food. Our organic approach focuses on nurturing the soil, which is the living base of your lawn.

Boosts Soil Health
Our liquid compost applications enrich your soil with beneficial microbes.

Enhance Immunity
Healthy soil leads to stronger plants that are naturally more resistant to pests and diseases.

Family & Pet safe
Eliminate concerns about harmful chemicals, providing a safer environment for everyone to enjoy.

Eco-Friendly
Reduce your environmental footprint by avoiding synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.

Collin & Denton Counties
Soils Alive serves Collin and Denton counties, including Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and Denton. There is incredible diversity of soil types in these areas, with Collin County having over 15 different soil types! McKinney is home to the Houston Black Clay, which forms unique structures called "gilgai" that hold water after heavy rain (you can see these at Clymer Meadow). Big cracks in the soil of your lawn is natural for this area, but not great for turfgrass. Lawns in these areas need organic treatments to help them absorb more than just 0.10" of rainfall per hour. Heavy rain events end up washing off into the street, when a healthier soil would be able to capture more free rain. Learn about the native plants for these regions with Native Plant Society of Collin County and Denton County.
