Leaf Footed Bug Eggs
Catch the eggs first so you don’t have to battle the adults!
The best way to halt outbreaks of destructive leaf footed bugs or squash bugs in your vegetable garden is to eliminate the eggs before they hatch! You’ll want to regularly inspect the undersides of the leaves in your garden. This cluster of leaf footed bug eggs will look almost identical to squash bug eggs, as they are closely related. If you find any such eggs, destroy them immediately!
Leaf footed bugs will feed on flowers, fruits and seeds with their piercing mouth parts. If you don’t have a large infestation, you can often hand pick insects off of your plants. But be warned, these bugs are members of the stink bug familly: Hold them too long and your nose won’t thank you!
