Each year, fire ants become more of a problem throughout DFW homes and lawns. They destroy plant material, upset lawn ecosystems, damage utility equipment, and in some cases, can be the cause of allergic reactions. Our treatment for fire ants will stop the spread throughout your lawn and home. Once we treat your lawn or home, we’ll work with you to ensure all fire ants are dealt with and controlled.
Fire ants are identified by their red body coloration and large mounds (which show above ground). They also have a harmful stinger they use partially to inflict damage. They typically build in sunny areas (common for DFW). Fire ant mounds are dome-shaped and can appear as large as a basketball. Fire ants are least active when it's very hot out (usually above 90/95 degrees F). They feed primarily on living insects and dead animals (but can also feed on your lawn and plants). If they manage to enter your home, they take to sweet and fatty things.
We will bait the yard three times a year and drench mounds throughout the year on our fertilization round visits.
