Feed Your Soil Now: January is time for liquid compost extract.
As part of our Soil Building Program, we'll be visiting your lawn this month for its first application of Liquid Compost Extract. In January, you say? Yes! You might think it’s too cold for us to apply liquid compost, but it’s actually a good time for your soil to be fed.
If you’ve been told this is not the time to fertilize, then you’re probably thinking of synthetic fertilizers. This is not a good time to be putting down a synthetic high-Nitrogen fertilizer (which is not something we ever do). Our locally made organic liquid compost extract is completely different than a salt-based synthetic product. Our main focus is to build up the health of your soil, which in turn then feeds and supports your lawn and landscape.
Our soil is still very bio-active right now, even though it’s still chilly outside. Our soils don’t freeze here in the Dallas area and soil temperatures stay much warmer than air temperatures. Often, our soils don't maintain a soil temperature below 50F consistently through winter. So it's perfectly safe for us to apply our organic fertilizers.. In order to get your lawn, trees and landscape plants off to the best possible start this spring, we need to feed your soil now.
If you think it’s too early in the year to start with our Soil Building Program, it’s not! Get a jump on spring and let us feed your soil!
