Catching Up From Spring Storms
Our June service calenda maintenance helps landscapes recover from the rain!
June Service Calendar: Helping Landscapes Recover from the Rain
Record breaking rains fell this spring, causing soil to become over-saturated. Soggy soil causes a multitude of problems for our landscape plants such as nutrient deficiencies, soil heaving around trees, and suffocating root systems. Now is the time to begin to reverse the damage done by giving the soil a bit more attention. Learn more about how the rains have impacted your soil and landscape plants here.
Are you a Soil Building customer? As part of Treatment 4 on our calendar, we are introducing nutrients back into the soil to combat conditions such as Chlorosis. Plants that are nutrient deficient are much more susceptible to the effects of drought, pests and disease. We will also add an extra boost of Mycorrhizal fungi to aid plants with the update of nutrients.
To improve the nutritional value of your soil, we are also adding worm castings and micronutrients. The more bio-active your soil is, the healthier your plants will be. In the coming weeks, the additional nutrition will help to strengthen landscapes and combat fungal diseases such as Brown Patch and Gray Leaf Spot.
Be sure to pay attention to how you water and mow. Proper maintenance between our visits are key to the health of your lawn and garden. Learn more about proper year-round maintenance here.
Scheduling core aeration this month will also improve the health of your plants. And, with all this humidity, a treatment of our organic mosquito control will make hanging out on the patio a much more pleasant experience.
See you all this month!
